OPERATION
Using the Blade for Brush Clearing
(See Fig. 41)
NOTE:
The blade is supplied with a cover surrounding the edge of the blade. For your safety, and
to protect the blade, the cover should be installed whenever the cutter is not in use.
NOTE:
Do not sharpen the blade. Inspect the work area and get rid of hidden objects such as
pieces of glass, pebbles, concrete, fence, wooden palisades, metal, etc. Never use a blade near
paths, fences or other hard, fixed objects.
Never continue to use a blade after hitting a hard object without checking for damage. Stop using
the blade if it is damaged.
■ Use the cutter blade to cut heavier weeds, brush and similar vegetation .
■ Hold the brush cutter firmly with both hands, keeping your right hand on the main handle and
left hand on the assist handle. Ensure the cutter sits with a gap between the product and your
right side.
■ The brush cutter should be held at a comfortable position with the rear handle at waist level.
The maximum operating height is 300 mm. Never hold the cutting head higher than 300 mm;
the higher you hold the cutting head will increase the risk of objects being thrown (Fig. 41).
■ Stand upright, do not lean forward and pay attention to posture. Keep both feet apart to help
retain your balance.
■ Carefully plunge the blade from above when cutting long undergrowth.
■ Move the cutting head towards the base of young trees or thicker vegetation.
To avoid hazards never cut heavier weeds, brush and similar vegetation with a thickness of over
6mm. Avoid contact with stones, wire, glass etc. that may cause injury to the user! Inspect the
blade regularly for damage, cracks or breaks!
Always replace a damaged blade!
When working with the cutter blade there is always a risk of kickback if the cutting head comes
into contact with a hard object! Kickback will cause the sudden stalling of the cutting head, which
in turn results in the cutting head being forced in the opposite direction to the rotation of the
cutter blade! Ensure that you retain a firm grip with both hands at any sign of such kickback, pay
attention and retain a firm stance to avoid injuries!
