All AutoFocus preprocessors can adjust the sampling points only if their

timing requirements

are

satisfied. In addition, the maximum operating frequency has to be considered, see tables in

“AutoFocus Preprocessor Hardware Versions”

, page 62.

ETMv3.x

If the basic check was completed and the trace results are still not error free, the target connector pinout
should be checked again (

ETMv3

). The following procedure might help you determine the source of the

error. By manually disassembling the captured trace data (for a single step), you might notice swapped pins
or data channels that might have timing issues.

Pin 34, 36, and 38 of the connector are handled by the trace hardware as normal data signals. That means
these signals will also be affected by the termination circuitry.

It is required to connect pin 34 directly to VCC and pin 30 and 32 directly to
GND.

Electrical measurements must be done by trained personal only. Special care has
to be taken concerning electrostatic discharge.

The target must run and the trace has to be armed during electrical measurements
to ensure trace port activity.
