Test System
Turn ON the extraction freeze dryer base unit and let the collector reach -
40⁰C or
below.
Close and latch the tray dryer door.
Make sure the VAC RELEASE valve is set to CLOSE.
Start the vacuum pump. Vacuum in the system should reach at least 0.133 mbar
within 30 minutes and 0.040 mbar within 18 hours.
Chemical Resistance of Freeze Dryer Components
The extraction freeze dryer is designed to be chemically resistant to most compounds
that are commonly used in freeze drying processes. However, by necessity, the freeze
dryer is comprised of several different materials, some of which may be attacked and
degraded by certain chemicals. The degree of degradation is dependent on the
concentration and exposure duration. Some of the major components of the freeze
dryer that are susceptible to degradation are as follows:
C – Moderate degradation; limited use
D – Severe degradation; infrequent use recommended; immediate thorough cleaning required
