Appendix A
GH-3100 Interface
Signal Name & Cable Characteristics
A.1 INTRODUCTION
This appendix defines digital interface label information and electrical characteristics of all input and
output signal names to the GH-3100 Electronic Standby Instrument System. Sufficient data is included to
use a bus reader for the purpose of identifying GH-3100 signal input and output characteristics and
perform an electrical load analysis for the aircraft.
NOTE
Information for the MAG-3000 and MAG-3100 magnetometers is
located in publications TP-633 and 0040-21200-01 respectively.
The interface characteristics contained in this appendix are fully compatible with ARINC specifications
where noted. Connection information identifies the connector-pin and signal names as they appear on the
external interconnect wiring diagram (see figure 2-7 or figure 2-8).
A.2 DIGITAL INTERFACE
Refer to Figure 2-1 in the installation section of this manual for J1 pin assignment information.
A.2.1 ARINC 429 Input BUS
ARINC 429 Input BUS (#1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6) can be configured to receive data at high (100 kbps) and
low (12.0 to 14.5 kbps) speeds. Each Input BUS complies with ARINC 429 standards and is compatible
with ARINC 711 Airborne VOR Receivers including VOR receivers which combine the functions of
ARINC 710 Airborne ILS receivers, ARINC 702 Flight Management Computer Systems, and ARINC
709 Airborne DME Transceivers. ARINC 429 Input BUS configured for heading receives ARINC 705
heading data.
A.2.1.1 ARINC 429 Input Labels
The following ARINC 429 labels are received at low speed (12.0 to 14.5 kbps) and are inputs from a
VOR receiver
•
Label 034 - VOR / ILS Output Frequency Word (BCD)
•
Label 222 - VOR Omnibearing (BNR)
The following ARINC 429 labels are received at low speed (12.0 to 14.5 kbps) and are inputs from an
ILS receiver:
•
Label 173 - Localizer Deviation (BNR)
•
Label 174 - Glide slope Deviation (BNR)
The following ARINC 429 labels are received at low speed (12.0 to 14.5 kbps) and are inputs from a
DME receiver:
•
Label 002 - Time-To-Go (BCD)
•
Label 012 - Ground Speed (BCD)
•
Label 035 - DME Tune Frequency Word (BCD)
•
Label 202 - DME Distance (BNR)
•
Label 252 - Time-To-Go (BNR)
