3.1 INTRODUCTION
This section contains instructions for post-installation checkout of the GH-3100 Electronic Standby
Instrument System.
3.2 POST INSTALLATION CHECKS (INITIAL SYSTEM INSTALLATION)
This procedure will validate the installation and return to service of the individual components included in
the GH-3100 Electronic Standby Instrument System. Post installation checks are used for first time
installations only.
3.2.1 Electronic Standby Indicator Check
Aircraft or unit should not be placed into motion or be in motion during indicator alignment. Technicians
installing the GH-3100 must comply with CFR FAR PART 91.411.
NOTE
If the GH-3100 Indicator is removed for maintenance, the DCM-3100
remains with the aircraft via a chain that is attached to the GH-3100 wiring
harness. It is recommended that a conductive connector dust cover be
placed over the connector end of the DCM-3100.
1.
Apply power to the GH-3100 Electronic Standby Instrument System. Allow the indicator to
complete Built-in-Test (BIT). A normal display is viewed in approximately three minutes. The
display should reflect the attitude of the aircraft as it rests on the ramp.
2.
Compare results on GH-3100 display with that of the primaries.
a.
Attitude will be
±
0.5
°
.
b.
Heading will be
±
4.0
°
. (Only for units configured with heading).
c.
Airspeed indication will be minimum setting as configured in DCM-3100.
CAUTION
Wind gusts can cause the airspeed indication on the GH-3100 to exceed
the minimum setting configured in the DCM-3100.
d.
Altitude will indicate field elevation within
±
20 feet. (Ensure proper baro setting)
3.
Follow instructions given in Pneumatic Pressure Checks (paragraph 3.2.2.2.10, page 3-8).
