Three dashes “---” replace the digits in a navigation data field when the data for that field is invalid.
The DME hold annunciator “H” is shown in the small character size, having DME "H" Annunciator
Color based on unit configuration, preceding the DME distance digits.
The “MSG” annunciator for FMS is in medium character size, having MSG Annunciator Color based on
unit configuration, located below the distance data display at the upper right side of the attitude display
area. The background for this annunciator is the Message Annunciator Background based on unit
configuration.
The “XTK”, “APR”, “WP ALRT”, and “WAY PT” annunciators for FMS is a medium character size;
having XTK Annunciator Color, APR Annunciator Color, WPT ALERT Annunciator Color, and
WAYPOINT Annunciator Color based on unit configuration; left justified and located in three
consecutive lines ending at the lower left corner of the attitude display area above the area of the optional
heading display (“WP ALRT” and “WAY PT” are mutually exclusive on the same line). The background
for each of these annunciators is the Message Annunciator Background based on unit configuration.
The descriptors “BC”, “NM”, “KTS”, “MIN”, “CRS”, “DTK”, “BRG”, “NAV TST”, “TO”, “FR”, DME
“H”, “---”, and the NAV or FMS Digital Data has Nav Annunciator Background based on unit
configuration.
5.2.5.2 Deviation Indicators
Navigation deviation indicators are shown as cross-pointers in the center of the display area, plus or
minus the deviation input as shown in Figure 5-10, Figure 5-11, Figure 5-12, and Figure 5-13.
5.2.5.2.1 Left/Right Deviation Cross-Pointer Dynamics
The left / right cross-pointer is a single vertical needle, centered vertically on the square boresight mark
that moves left or right indicating the left / right deviation. For zero deviation, this left / right needle is
located behind the square boresight mark. The needle movement is constrained to 110% full-scale
deflection in each direction from the boresight.
