(2) Fax default

Line type setting (inch only)

Set the type of phone line here to correspond to the type 
of telephone service.

1. Select [Line Type] using the cursor up/down keys 

and press the enter key.

2. Select [Tone Line (DTMF)] or [Pulse Line (10PPS)].

TTI setting

Select whether or not that TTI information will be sent to 
the receiving party's fax, and whether it will be printed 
inside or outside the border of the transmitted page.

1. Select [TTI] using the cursor up/down keys and 

press the enter key.

2. Select [Outside page], [Inside page] or [Do not 

Print].

Turning fax forwarding ON/OFF

To use Fax Forwarding, it is necessary to turn it ON in 
advance.

1. Select [Fax forwarding] using the cursor up/down 

keys and press the enter key.

2. Select [On] or [Off].

Turning password check communication ON/OFF

1. Select [Password Check Comm.] using the cursor 

up/down keys and press the enter key.

2. Select [Send] or [Receive]] using the cursor up/

down keys.

3. Select [On] or [Off].

Print report setting

1. Select [Print Report] using the cursor up/down keys 

and press the enter key.

2. Select which report to set using the cursor up/down 

keys and press the enter key.

3. Select [On] or [Off].

Bulletin board setting

Enter documents into memory once and they will be 
available for transmission to any number of receiving par-
ties upon receipt of their polling request.

1. Select [Bulletin Board] using the cursor up/down 

keys and press the enter key.

2. Select[Save doc. after Tx] or [Del. doc. after Tx].

Number of rings setting [auto fax reception]

The number of times the fax will [ring] before an incoming 
call is answered in the Auto Fax Reception mode can be 
set here to any number between 1 to 15.

1. Select [# of Rings (Nr of rings)] using the cursor up/

down keys and press the enter key.

2. Select the number of rings.

Number of rings setting [TAD reception]

The number of times the fax will let the telephone ring 
before switching to fax reception can be set here to any 
number between 1 to 15.

1. Select [#Rings(TAD) (Nr rings-TAD)] using the cur-

sor up/down keys and press the enter key.

2. Select the number of rings.

Number of rings setting [FAX/TEL switching] 
(inch only)

The number of times the fax will let the telephone ring 
before the Auto FAX/TEL Switching mode engages can 
be set here to any number between 1 to 15.

1. Select [#Rings(AutoRX) (Nr rings-AutRX)] using the 

cursor up/down keys and press the enter key.

2. Select the number of rings.

Dial confirm setting

Dial Confirmation enables the prevention of problems 
associated with mistakenly pressing the wrong one-
touch, program or group dial key.

1. Select [Dial Confirm (Confirm dial)] using the cursor 

up/down keys and press the enter key.

2. Select [On] or [Off].

Volume setting

The volume of the alarm, the monitor and the speaker 
can be adjusted, or you can make the alarm inaudible.

1. Select [Set Volume] using the cursor up/down keys 

and press the enter key.

2. Select the desired alarm volume.

Buzzer Volume: [Large], [Small] or [Off].
Monitor Volume: [Large], [Medium], [Small] or [Off].
Speaker Volume: [Large], [Medium], [Small] or [Off].

Scan from DP setting

Select whether documents that are set in the Document 
Processor will be scanned as 8 1/2 x 11" [A4R] or other 
such standard size paper, or as long documents (in the 
direction of the paper feed).

1. Select [Scan from DP] using the cursor up/down 

keys and press the enter key.

2. Select [Standard size original] or [Long original].

TX mode/default setting

Select which transmission mode, Memory Transmission 
or Direct Feed Transmission, will be the default setting in 
this fax.

1. Select [TX/Default] using the cursor up/down keys 

and press the enter key.

2. Select [Direct Feed Transmission] or [Memory 

Transmission].
