The following tasks should be performed
periodically to help maintain peak performance.
Media Server
• Vacuum the vents on the front and back of
the Media Server (see Figure 35). Air needs to
flow through these vents to cool the
electronic components and prevent
overheating.
• Wipe off any dust with a dry cloth.
Set-top Box
• Clean only with a dry cloth.
• Periodically inspect the power cord to ensure
it is not becoming pinched or damaged.
• Unplug during lightning storms or when it
will be unused for a long period of time.
Power off the component before cleaning. If
the Media Server is left powered on, you will
damage the Media Server if you accidentally
eject a hard drive while cleaning.
