4. PTO drive shaft
In some cases the length of the PTO drive shaft has to
be adapted. The length of the PTO shaft depends on the
distance between the tractor and machine.

Check length of the PTO drive shaft
Prior to coupling the PTO drive shaft check the length:
- Correctly line-up tractor and machine.
- Make sure that the PTO of the tractor is clean and
lubricated.
- Fit both PTO drive shaft halves (do not connect!)
- Hold both PTO drive shaft halves together, make sure
that:
• The protection tube shall be at least 5 cm (1 31/32’’)
shorter
• The overlap of the profiled drive tubes shall be at
least 37 cm (17 10/32’’).

Shorten the PTO drive shaft
- Exactly determine the correct length of the shaft.
- Shorten the protection tubes.
- Shorten the profiled drive tubes.
The length of both cut-off ends has to be identical A=B.
- Clean cut ends of both protection and profile tubes to
make sure that they are all smooth and clean.

Correct length
Never use a PTO drive shaft which is too long,
this seriously damage drive bearings of both
tractor and machine.

Wide angle joint
At the tractor side, the PTO drive shaft has a
wide angle joint with an angle of up to 80°.
Make sure the PTO drive shaft is not
damaged.
