3. SWATH SCREEN ADJUSTMENT
a) Sideways adjustment :
To adjust the swath screen laterally, the machine must be in working position. According to the crop’s density, move
the swath screen away or closer to the rotor using the adjustment crank (P) (photo 22).
Before adjusting the swath screen, disengage the PTO drive, turn off the tractor engine and remove the starter key.
Note : The GA 6000 swath width can be adjusted manually for work with a reduced working width. Proceed as
follows :
- remove the R-clip (N) and lock pin (B) of the connecting rod (L) (photo 22 A),
- to increase or reduce the swath width, move the swath screen away or nearer to the rear rotor by using the
handle (P), place the lock pin (B) in the nearest hole of the adjustment plate (S) and lock with the R-clip
(N) (photo 23).
b) Lengthways adjustment :
The swath screen is adjusted both sideways and lengthways at the same time. To make additional lengthways
adjustment, move swath screen either toward the front or toward the rear (holes T), after first unscrewing the 2
attachment screws (F) (photo 23 A). When working in green forage, it is recommended to move swath screen forward
to catch any crop thrown sideways.
c) Vertical adjustment :
3 positions (E) can be selected (photo 23 A). As a rule, the screen (G) should be fixed in the centre. The other
positions are to be used only if necessary :
. the higher position when the ground is very uneven,
. the lower position when the crop is short and light.
