Changing the basic setting of the clutch lever
The adjusting screw

can be used to individually adapt the basic setting
of the clutch lever. The clutch lever can be set in the best possible position
for any hand size.
Turning the adjusting screw in a clockwise direction moves the clutch lever
closer to the handlebar. Turning the adjusting screw in a counterclockwise
direction moves the clutch lever away from the handlebar.

Checking the oil level in the hydraulic clutch
Remove the cover to check the oil level in the master cylinder of the clutch.
To remove, unscrew the screws

and lift off the cover

together with
the rubber boot

. The oil level should be 4 mm under the upper edge
when the master cylinder is in a horizontal position.
If necessary, add biodegradable SAE 10 hydraulic oil (
Motorex clutch
fluid 75
), available from your authorized KTM workshop.

Checking the setting of the hand decompression cable *
Set the piston to compression to close the valves by slowly actuating the
kickstarter until you hear the automatic decompression click (disengage).
You should be able to actuate the decompression lever 10 mm until you
feel resistance (the exhaust valves will start to open). To adjust, slide back
the protection cover

, loosen the counternut

and adjust the adjusting
screw

accordingly.
Tighten the counternut and slide on the protection cover.

THIS WILL EVENTUALLY
LEAD TO ENGINE DAMAGE

NOTE:
No adjustments need to be made to the automatic decompression system.
To adjust, remove the seat and tank.
Push the choke lever all the way forward.
Loosen the counternut

and correct the play by turning the adjusting
piece

. Tighten the counternut and slide the protection cover back on.
Mount the tank and the seat.
