Battery
The battery is located under the seat.
The battery is a self-contained system and is therefore maintenance-free. It
is not necessary to check the electrolyte level or to add water. Merely keep
the battery poles clean and grease slightly with acid-free grease if required.
To dismount the battery:
– Remove the seat (see chapter "Removing the seat")
– First disconnect the negative pole and then the positive pole from the
battery.
– Remove the seat lock
1
and unscrew the voltage regulator-rectifier
2
.
– Remove the 2 screws and the tilt the retaining bracket

aside.
– Remove the battery.
– When remounting, first connect the positive pole and then the negative
pole to the battery, proceed to mount in the reverse order.

STORAGE:
If the motorcycle will be immobilized for a longer period of time, connect
the automatic battery charge maintainer to keep the battery charged.
Charging the battery
The Fritec Ladeprofi BV11800
4
is a high-quality microprocessor-controlled
battery charger and battery charge maintainer. The device is completely automa-
tic and operates according to the charging curve stored in the microprocessor.
Connect the device to the socket next to the speedometer (see chapter
"Socket") and to the power supply system (230V).
The device will perform a self-test as soon as it is connected to the power supply
system. It is ready to operate when all of the LEDs light up for approx. 2 seconds.
Connecting an accumulator with at least 3.5V residual voltage will start the
charging procedure. A test is performed on the connected accumulator and
its charging level established. The four LEDs will indicate
leer
,
1/3
,
2/3
,
voll
.
Even if the accumulator is full, it may take a few hours to establish the char-
ging level and display accumulator "
voll
".
The accumulator cannot be overcharged.
Anzeigen:
LED Netz - lights up: The device is connected to the power supply system.
LED Leer - lights up: The accumulator is connected, the device is in the
main charging mode.
LED Leer - blinks:
The device is in the desulfation mode. Desulfation
loops are being run. If desulfation is successful and
current is forced to flow through the accumulator,
charging will continue in the main loading mode. If
desulfation is unsuccessful charging will be interrup-
ted and "Fehler" displayed.
LED 1/3 - lights up:
The device is in the main loading mode. The charging
current has dropped 1/3 below the initial value.
LED 2/3 - lights up:
The device is in the main loading mode. The charging
current has dropped 2/3 below the initial value.
LED Voll - lights up: The accumulator is fully charged. A maintaining
charge is carried out. The device can continue to be
connected. The accumulator is running a so-called
"driving simulator cycle".
LED Fehler - lights up: Short circuit in the alligator clips, accumulator is
connected in reverse polarity.
LED Fehler - blinks:
Battery error, charging is interrupted. The device has
detected the wrong battery, e.g. 6V - or 24V battery,
the battery is sulfatized and revitalization is unsucces-
sful or there is a cell short circuit.
