3. The final resistance value is reached after approximately one minute.
4. Read the insulation resistance.
ð
If the value is outside the normal range, do not put the motor into service.
Take measures to ensure that the motor cannot be started and contact your
nearest KSB service centre.
ð
If the measured value reaches or falls below the critical insulation resistance,
the insulation can be damaged and voltage flashovers can occur.
ð
If the measured value is close to the critical value, keep checking the
insulation resistance at appropriately frequent intervals for some time.
NOTE
If windings have been dried after having been repaired or cleaned, bear in mind
that the insulation resistance of warm windings is lower. The insulation resistance
can only be correctly evaluated after converting to the reference temperature of
25 °C.
6.2 Prerequisites for commissioning/start-up
NOTE
Commissioning only in conjunction with frequency inverter, e.g. PumpDrive 2 or
PumpDrive R
Before commissioning/starting up the drive, make sure the following conditions are
met:
▪
Check that the drive is properly installed and aligned.
▪
Check that the drive is connected correctly for the specified direction of rotation.
▪
Make sure that the operating conditions correspond to the data specified on the
name plate.
▪
Make sure that the output elements are correctly configured depending on type
(e.g. alignment and balancing of couplings, belt forces for belt drive, tooth forces
and tooth flank clearance for gearwheel drive, radial and axial clearance for
coupled shafts).
▪
Make sure that the minimum insulation resistance values and minimum
clearances have been observed.
▪
Check that the earthing and equipotential bonding connections have been
properly made.
▪
Properly tighten all fastening bolts/screws, connecting elements, and electrical
connections with the specified tightening torques.
▪
Remove screwed-in lifting lugs following installation or secure against
slackening.
▪
Turn the rotor manually to verify that the shaft rotates freely.
▪
Implement all measures preventing accidental contact with moving and live
parts.
▪
If the shaft end is not used, cover the unused shaft end and secure the key to
protect it from being thrown off.
▪
Components (lines, etc.) that are sensitive to temperature must not come into
contact with the motor housing.
6.3 Start-up
The motor can only be started from a standstill using the control panel or controller
of the frequency inverter.
1. Re-check the direction of rotation immediately after starting.
