5.3.5 Backfilling around the tank

ü

The piping has been connected.

ü

The collecting tank has been levelled and backfilled around its base.

1.

Provide a suitable foundation and backfill the pipework properly.

2.

Place sidefill (sand) around the collecting tank.

NOTE

Carefully compact backfill directly at the tank contour to prevent voids.
Never use stones, shingle or coarse gravel as backfill material directly at the tank.
Continuously check the collecting tank for any deformations or other signs of
uneven loads and installation errors.

provisional cover 185 for fitting profile joint 410.02.

Encase the collecting tank in concrete so that its upper edge is flush with the
