Handling the swather when in use
4.3 Converting from transport to
working position
Before lowering the swather disk, make
sure that the lateral guard bars (1) are
turned inwards and no-one is within the
slewing range of the swather disks!
Do not run the swather disks in the
transport position or with retracted
guard bar!
ï
Operate single acting control valve on the tractor and
apply pressure to the hydraulic cylinders. This will
release the lock.
•
Unlock the lock by pulling the actuating cable. Keep
cable under tension.
•
Use the control valve to slowly lower the outer rotor
until the wheels are on the ground.
•
Release the actuating cable.
4.3.1 Lowering the rotor arms –
mechanically
During work operation, leave the
control valve in „Lower“ position.
•
Remove the tine protections with the expander rope
by taking the expander rope out of the mounting links
of the tine arm.
•
Insert the protections in the support with the ropes
and secure with the linch pin.
4.3.2 Removing the safety mechanism for
the tine tips
The distance between the swath former and the swather
disc is infinitely adjustable for narrow or wide swaths to
suit crop conditions.
The distance between the swath former and the swather
disc is set to suit the amount of crop.

=
smaller distance
To do this loosen the adjusting screw (1), move the
swath former (2) to the desired position and retighten the
adjusting screw (1).
4.3.3 Adjusting the rear swath cloth
Adjusting the swath cloth is done when
the rotor carrying arms are lowered.
The tractor motor has to be shut off and
the ignition key removed.

For the working position, the locking blot
(5) must be moved from the outer bore
hole (7) to the inner one (8) and secured in
place with the hinged cotter pin.
