Before and After Use
3.1 Commissioning
Before commissioning the round baler needs to be
fully assembled and matched to the towing vehicle
(refer to Appendix A "Commissioning").
If a different tractor is used later, the following needs to
be checked and adjusted if necessary:
•
drawbar height (see Appendix A "Commissioning")
•
PTO shaft length (see Appendix A "Commissioning")
Special Safety Instructions
In addition to the general safety instructions, other special safety instructions apply for round baler operation.
•
The following general rules apply to all maintenance, assembly, repair and adjustment work:
Bring the machine to a stop. Switch off the engine. Remove the ignition key. Secure the
tractor and the round baler against rolling.
•
Keep an adequate safety distance to all moving parts of the round baler during operation. This
applies especially to the collecting mechanism of the crop. Remove any clogging here only
with the PTO and the engine switched off.
•
Never remain in the swivel range of the rear flap or below the unsecured rear flap. In case of
maintenance, mounting or repair work in the bale chamber or on the rear flap always protect
the rear flap against lowering by means of the shut-off cock. Switch off the motor, remove the
ignition key and disconnect the 12 V supply voltage.
•
If dangerous situations arise, turn off the PTO immediately and bring the round baler to a stop.
•
Never let the round baler run if no operating personnel is on the tractor.
•
The round baler may be operated with a maximum PTO shaft speed of 540 rpm only.
•
Risk of injury from the cutting system cutter blades!
•
On slopes, always place the round bales in such a way that they cannot move on their own.
On account of their weight and their cylindrical shape, they can cause severe accidents,
once they start moving.
