Brake release function
CAUTION
Risk of injury due to crushing!
When lowering the trailer, the clearance
under the trailer is reduced. Persons
between the road and vehicle parts can be
crushed and seriously injured.
► Avoid the danger areas.
► When operating the air suspension,
avoid having persons underneath the
trailer.
As an option, KRONE trailers can be
equipped with a brake release function. It
enable safe lifting and lowering of the
braked vehicle by preventing tension in the
chassis. Tension occurs by lifting and
lowering when the service brake is applied.
When the brake is subsequently released,
there can be uncontrolled jerky vehicle
movements.
Actuating the brake release function
þ
The
(see "5.9.2 parking brake", pg. 38)
is
applied on the tractor unit.
þ
The service brake on the trailer is ven-
ted and braked with a pressure of at
least 6.5 bar.
