Maintenance and servicing
Shortly after switching on the filling pump, B4 is
opened. The deaeration
during the filling is done
via the deventilator V1 (partially also via V3)
At the end of the filling process, the pressure
rises again slowly. Now, the expansion vessel is
filling. When a pressure of 1,8 bar (pressure of
the expansion vessel is 1,5 bar) is reached, close
B4 and switch off the filling pump.
7.3 Cleaning of plate heat exchanger
Generally consider the operating manual of the
master control.
Note
After every operation of the BKM120, possibly
discharge the secondary circuit completely (using
the secondary drain bolt at the heat transformer)
and wash the secondary side including the heat
transformer with clear water (after that, discharge
again).
If there is a bigger pressure drop on the secon-
dary side (see „Technical data“), it may be neces-
sary to completely clean the single plates of the
heat exchanger. In order to do that, first close the
two ball valves B1 and B2. Inside the now locked
part of the primary side, there are about 11,5 l of
heat transfer liquid, which can be discharged via
the primary drain bolt. For ventilation, open the
ball valve B6. Ideally, the discharged heat trans-
fer liquid should be collected.
The heat trasferring liquid Glykosol N is classi-
fied with water hazard class 1 as slightly water
endangering.
Note
Now you can unscrew the four bolts (two at the
primary side and two at the secondary side) and
loosen the cover plate of the heat exchanger.

separate manual of the plate heat exchanger.
Refilling (see also chapter "Filling primary
circuit")
Open the ball valves B1, B2 and B3. The 4-way
mixer X1 must be opened (push the lever and
set to central position). Now, you can slowly fill
in the missing heat transfer liquid in the primary
circuit via the filler pipe B4.
Deaeration is done
via V3. Keep on filling until a pressure of 1,8 bar
is shown.

Filling (primary circuit)
Before filling, please ensure that all ball cocks of
the primary circuit (B1, B2, B3), the cock to the
expansion vessel (B5) as well as the two mixers
(X1, X2) are opened. The mixers are opened by
pushing the levers and turning them to the cen-
tral position.
Then connect the receiving tank of the heat
transfer liquid (39 % Glykosol N / 61 % water) at
the the filling and draining cock B4 to the filling
pump.
