7 Maintenance and servicing
Before any maintenance work is done, the unit
must have cooled down completely and the main
switch must be set at „Off“.
Do not do any maintenance work during sta-
cked storage.

7.1 Cleaning of combustion chamber
and boiler
To clean the combustion chamber, you do
not have to remove the burner. For the exact
cleaning procedure see the boiler manual chap-
ter 7.1 – 7.3 "Cleaning of combustion chamber
and boiler", "Cleaning of the flue gas passes"
and "Cleaning of the flue gas passes box".
7.2 Cleaning of neutralization box and
plastic heat exchanger
After every operation of the BKM120, respec-
tively once every six months, you have to check
if a cleaning of the neutralization box and the
granulate is necessary.

For the cleaning remove the siphon and wash
it out with water. Then wash the synthetic heat
exchanger from the front (see burner manual
chapter 7.4 „Wet cleaning – neutralization box
and plastic heat exchanger“). The water leaves
at the back via the drain channel of the BKM120.
In order to clean the granulate, fill it into a sepa -
rate basin first. There, wash it with clear water,
decant the water and refill the cleaned granulate
back into the neutralization box. If necessary,
amend fresh granulate (to the filling line).
• Push the ESC button.
• Use the rotary knob to set "Select function"
and confirm.
• Select "Global functions" and confirm.
•
Push the menu button.
• Select "Enter password" and confirm.
• Enter the password "187" and confirm.
•
Push the ESC button twice.
• Select "Boiler" and confirm.
•
Push the left, central quick-select button
twice.
• Set the operation mode to "Manual heating
mode" and confirm with "Save".
• Set the boiler temperature to "85" °C and
confirm with "Save".
If this function is not needed any more, go
through the settings in the same way and set
the operation mode to "Automatic".
