OVERVIEW:

The KRATOS SAFETY horizontal lifeline provides optimum permanent protection for workers moving horizontally and vertically. The KS-Line lifeline 

is a Type C anchorage device certified for use with 4 users at the same time, in accordance with standards EN 795:2012 and CEN/TS 16415:2013, and is 

recommended for work at height involving maintenance activities where there is a risk of falling. The minimum breaking strength is 28 kN. It comprises 

an 8 mm diameter stainless steel cable with a clevis at one end and a crimped tensioner at the other. The minimum permitted spacing between two fixtures 

is 5 m, while the maximum is 15 m. Rope grabs FA 60 206 00 and FA 60 206 01 allow users to automatically pass through the intermediate points without 
unhitching. By deforming, the energy absorber reduces the loads transmitted to the structure when a fall is arrested. This deformation also serves as a 
fall indicator, showing whether the device can be used or not.

Depending on which configuration is chosen, the calculation software can determine the loads transmitted to the ends of the lifeline and the maximum 

cable deflection when arresting a fall. These loads can be used to determine whether the structure onto which the system is to be installed has the requisite 

strength, taking the mandatory 2x safety margin and load lowering into account. A qualified engineer must calculate whether the load-bearing structure 

to which the system components will be fixed will be capable of supporting the loads transmitted while supporting workers or arresting a fall (taking the 

mandatory 2x safety margin into account). The same applies to the interfaces between fixing elements, where applicable.

KRATOS SAFETY

 certifies that this equipment has been tested for use with 4 users at the same time in accordance with standards EN 795:2012 Type 

C and CEN/TS 16415:2013.

USE AND PRECAUTIONS: 

The KS-Line lifeline is an anchorage device intended to be used as part of a personal protective fall-arrest system or work positioning system.

Make sure that the work is done in such a way as to limit the pendulum effect, as well as the risk and the height of a fall. For safety reasons and before 

each use, make sure that, in the event of a fall, there are no obstacles obstructing the normal operation of the fall arrest system fixed to this anchorage 

device. Always make sure that the space underneath the users is free before use so that if they fall, they do not collide with the ground or other obstacles 
on the fall trajectory.

User safety relies on the ongoing effectiveness of the equipment, how strong it is, the quality of the installation, and a full understanding of the safety 

instructions contained in this leaflet.

 
Because the strength of the lifeline is directly related to the quality of the receiving structure, conformity can only be achieved if the material(s) it is 
comprised of is/are free from manufacturing defects and its/their performance has/have not been compromised during installation or use (due to ageing, 
overloading, chemical attack, weathering, etc.).

The readability of the product’s markings must be checked regularly.

The test methods defined in the standards are not representative of real-life conditions of use. It is important to study each work situation individually 

and provide training for all users to make them aware of the system limits.

The choice of location must take into account:

•  the clearance needed for the fall protection system connected to the anchorage device 
• 

the risk associated with the pendulum effect in the event of a fall

•  the fall factor
•  the environmental constraints in the area the system is to be installed (site in operation when in use, rotating machinery, electrical hazards, etc.)
• 

the cable deflection and loads at the ends of the lifeline

As a general rule, the device should be positioned above the user’s position to reduce the risk of falling and the fall height as much as possible. The 
lifeline must be positioned no closer than 2 m from the fall risk.

Each safety zone must be surveyed before installation so that the configuration can be determined, taking the environment in which it will be used 

into account. The position of the device will also need to be worked out according to the available height (distance in relation to the edges and height 
in relation to the ground), the lifeline installation tension and the maximum lengths of each span. The maximum permitted number of users, the cable 

deflection during a fall and the type of fall arrester to use can be determined using these parameters and our calculation software.

 
Connecting or disconnecting to/from the system must be done from a safe position. The connection to the lifeline's rope grab must be via a suitable 
connector the locking system of which must be checked prior to use.
For safety reasons, it is vital that only one person passes through the intermediate and corner loops at a time.

If installed outdoors, the rope grabs must be stored in a sheltered place when not in use.

Be aware of the hazards that could reduce the performance of your equipment and, therefore, the safety of the user in the case of: exposure to extreme 

temperatures (<-30°C or >+50°C); to chemical products; electrical constraints; the fall protection system becoming twisted when in use; or sharp edges, 

friction, cuts, etc.

Before and during use, we recommend that you make the necessary arrangements for a safe rescue, should this be required.
This equipment must 

only be used by trained, competent and healthy individuals

 or under the supervision of a trained and competent individual. A 

third party is required for rescue operations.
