7.7 Exhaust Damper
This fireplace is shipped with the exhaust damper in the closed
position—approximately ½” (13mm) open. If installing with LP
gas and incorporating horizontal venting, the exhaust damper
may need to be adjusted to a more open position to avoid soot
accumulation on the viewing glass. To adjust,
1. Loosen wing nuts securing damper.
2. Slide the damper toward the front of the fireplace.
3. Re-tighten wing nuts to secure position.
7.8 Secure Vent System
1. Bend the (3) tabs on top of the fireplace up.
2. Install the first vent pipe section.
3. Secure vent pipe section to fireplace through tabs with (3)
screws.

7.9 Horizontal Vent Heat
Shield Installation
IMPORTANT: The horizontal vent heat shield must be installed
when incorporating minimum horizontal venting.
1. Loosen, but do not remove the (2) attachment screws in front
of the flue collar on the top of the fireplace.
2. Slide the (2) slots on horizontal vent heat shield under
previously loosened screws.
3. Re-tighten screws to install.
