ARD DISK ENCRYPTION
HDD encryption is not available when the MFP is delivered from manufacturing line.
If this feature is requested by the customer at installation, HDD Encryption has to be set before HDD
formatting:
If SOS 31 bit8 = 1 : encryption will be activated
If SOS 31 bit8 = 0 : encryption will be not activated
Please note that SOS 31 bit8 position has not effect when function is called through manufacturing
commands.
To have the HDD encrypted:
• Set SOS 31 bit8 to 1,
• MENU * 1 8 8 1
• Select the menu Format Disk .
• Select YES to confirm the formatting,
This operation could take approximately 20 minutes (depending on HDD size).
When it’s done, check the encryption has been done correctly:
• MENU * 9559
• Check File system = ext3,
• Check Encryption = Yes .
Warning : HDD encryption will erase data on the hard disk.

ARD DISK FORMATTING
HDD formatting must be applied after CPU board replacement or notification.
The hard disk is a hard disk of 2,5 inches, with SATA interface.
To format the HDD:
• MENU * 1 8 8 1 ,
• Select the menu Format Disk ,
• Select YES to confirm the formatting,
This operation could take approximately 20 minutes (depending on HDD size).
Warning : HDD formatting will erase data on the hard disk.
