OFTWARE DOWNLOAD
Two methods can be used to update the software
• by USB link
• by local network
There are 3 files to download:
• the boot software,
• the main software,
• the JFFS file.
The files must be uploaded in the sequence order define in the BIT (Bulletin Information Technique) for
the software. If the sequence order is not defined in the BIT, the files must be uploaded in this order:
boot software, main software, and JFFS.
Caution - Upload JFFS file will erase all parameters .
JFFS file must be uploaded only if a new version is diffused. It is necessary to save
parameters before to download JFFS file.

This procedure requires a basic PC running under Windows with the TELUSB2.exe executable and a
USB cable.
• Put the machine in an inactive state; disconnect the phone plug so as not to receive any incoming
calls. Make sure that all documents in the printer memory have been printed. Disconnect the
LAN cable.
• Connect a PC using the USB cable. Switch On the machine to PC download mode (keys
simultaneously 4, 8, 6 ). When the machine is On, TELUSB2 must detect the PC download
mode. If not, retry this step. If OK , launch the executable and select the binary file to be
downloaded.
• After a few seconds, a window opens stating that the download was successful. The machine
should not reboot immediately. If this occurs, either the file is corrupted (wrong checksum) or
the software is not compatible with the fax machine. Then the machine reboots with the
software that was already installed. Check the file and restart the downloading.
• After download, the machine switches itself off, and then switches on again. The PLEASE
WAIT message is displayed.
• When the main menu is displayed on the screen of the machine, check the software version and
the miniboot version by typing MENU , Others Commands , Status .
• Reconnect the phone and LAN plugs.
