To clear jammed staples in FS-231

Remove the paper and staples according to the following procedure.

When a finisher is installed and the staples are jammed, the message shown below
appears.

Follow the procedure below to clear the jammed staples.

Note

If the message “Staple mode cannot be used.” appears, be sure to perform the
following procedure.

If the paper is pulled out in any way other than that described below, the stapler
unit may be damaged.

Slide the finisher away from the
copier.
