INSTALLING – Burner Systems
INSTALLING BURNER SYSTEMS INTO FIREBOX
The Zero Clearance Fireplace ZVF33 Series can be installed with it’s listed burners only. The Zero Clearance Fireplaces
ZVF36U/ZVF42U/ZVF52 Series have the option of being installed with either their listed burner systems or the GLVF24
Vent Free Burner Systems or other approved vent free burner systems.
Warning:
Failure to position parts in accordance with these diagrams or failure to use only part specifically
approved with this heater may result in property damages or personal injury.
Installing ZVF 33 / 36U / 42U/ 52 Burner System
1. Remove rear log support using 1/4” nut driver
2. Remove screws from Universal pan and discard pan
(ZVF36U,ZVF42U,ZVF52U only)
3. If using optional blower, it is recommended to install fan
now to make installation easier (see page 35)
4. Place burner assembly into firebox and line up holes on
burner assembly with holes in firebox base. Using screws
supplied or removed in step 2, mount two screws on either
side of pan and two into fan shield if applicable.
5. Re-install log support removed in step 1.

Connect gas supply to the burner system (see page 20)
7.
Proceed with log placement (see page 22-31).
CLEANING AND SERVICING OF
BURNER / ODS PILOT
It is recommended to annually inspect and clean the unit to
prevent malfunction and / or sooting. This operation should
be performed by your dealer or a qualified technician.
1.
Remove fireplace hood and door. (Refer to
Installation of
Door and Hood,
page 33.)
2.
Remove log set, handling carefully by holding gently at
each end. (Refer to
Log Placement)
Gloves are
recommended to prevent skin irritation from ceramic.
Annual Cleaning / Inspection
•
Do not use cleaning fluids to clean logs or any part of the
heater.
•
Use a soft bristle brush or a vacuum with brush attachment.
•
Vacuum loose particles and dust from burner ports, valve
and blower compartments.
•
Vacuum any accumulation of lint from primary mixing
tube.
•
Inspect ODS pilot for operation, accumulation of lint at the
air inlet holes.
•
Verify flame pattern and log placement for proper
operation.
•
Verify that all ports ignite and cross over smoothly from rear
to front burner.

WARNING
Turn off heater and allow to cool before cleaning. Only
a qualified service technician should service and repair
appliance.
WARNING
Failure to keep primary air openings clear, may result in
sooting and property damage.
Installing GLVF24 Vent Free Burner System with grate
1. If using optional blower it is recommended to install
fan now to make installation easier. (See
Installation of
Optional Fan Kit
, page 35.)

Remove the rear log support using a

3.
Follow instructions included with GLVF24 Burner
System with grate.
4. Connect gas supply to the burner system. (See
Installing
Gas Line
, page 20).
5. Proceed to
Log Placement,
page 22.
If using another manufacturer’s burner system and logs,
follow manufacturer’s installation instructions.
