5. Loosen the bumper (16a) clockwise by hand and disengage it from the locking
bolt (16b) (Fig. 27, step 1), then remove the bumper (16a) and the locking bolt
(16b) from the trimmer head (16).
6. Remove the trimming spool (16c) and the spring (16f) from the housing (16g)
(Fig. 27, step 2).

7. Clean the housing (16g) before inserting a new trimming spool (16c) of the
same type.
8. Insert the locking bolt (16b) from below to pass the hole of housing (16g) and
the spring (16f) and hold them in position (Fig. 28, step 1).
9. Pull the trimming line (16d) from the new spool for a length of approx. 25 cm.
10. Release the trimming line (16d) from the notches and hold it in position. Avoid
the trimmer line (16d) scatted from the trimming spool (16c) (Fig. 28, Step 2).
11. Lead the trimming line ending through the eyelet (16e) on the housing (16g)
(Fig. 28, Step 3).
12. Repeat the above steps (from 9
to10) to lead the other trimming
line ending through the other eyelet
(16e).
13. Insert the trimming spool (16c) into
the housing (16g) (Fig. 28, Step 4).
14. Fit the bumper (16a) to the thread of
locking bolt (16b).
15. Press down the trimming spool (16c)
against the spring (16f) and secure
the bumper (16a) onto the trimmer
head (16) by hand (Fig. 28, step 5).
