languages and reporting requirements. Real time display and data
logging is included. KITS™ enables merging of test results from
multiple instruments and supports bi-directional testing for one way
equipment using successive measurements.
Power Meter Measurement Capability
Calibration accuracy is amongst the best in the industry
Superior operational accuracy is proven with a unique Total
Uncertainty Specification, which covers the full temperature, dynamic
and connector range.
Warm up period, range-changing delays and user dark current zeroing
are all eliminated.
The sensitive optical tone detector displays the actual measured tone
frequency in Hz. If a standard tone is detected, the buzzer sounds,
which is useful for fiber identification and continuity testing. The
MultiFiber ID feature provides unique continuity / polarity identification
of up to 12 fibers.
Power stability testing over a period can be performed using the
max/min recording function.
The display shows dBm, dB mW, µW, nW, to 0.01 dB resolution, and
can be put on hold for convenient manual data recording.
A separate reference for each wavelength is stored and displayed.
When performing loss testing using an Autotest light source, up to
three wavelengths are displayed simultaneously. More wavelengths
are shown with a scrolling display.
Power Meters with standard detectors work with fiber core diameter
up to 200 micron, with both PC and APC polish connectors.
Power meters with Large Area Detectors work with an active fiber core
diameter up to 3 mm. Common applications include ribbon fiber
MPO/MTP and POF / HCS etc.
Various detector options include Indium Gallium Arsenide (InGaAs),
Germanium (Ge), Silicon (Si) and high power versions.
Power meter calibration options are available from 635 nm to 1650
nm, which cover all popular application wavelengths, including CWDM
calibrations from 1270 nm to 1610 nm in 20 nm increments. Power
range options are from +33dBm to -70dBm.
The instrument calibration wavelengths are all genuine. There are no
interpolated or inferred calibration values. In order to achieve this, a
unique automated calibration system is used during manufacture.
The KI2601 power meter range includes a 650 nm visible laser for
extra convenience when locating faults.
Light Source
Multiple wavelength sources have switchable wavelengths through
one port, which makes operation faster.
