AUDIO
DEVIS utilizes three audio source formats. WAVE, MIC, and LINE. WAVE is any file played
back internally in DEVIS, such as an EMERGENCY TONE, or recorded phone message.
MIC is used as the live voice-over connection. A direct connection to the modem’s speaker out
plug from DEVIS MIC input plug activates this feature.
LINE is used to playback continuous background music. For instance, if you have a set of
normal presentations playing, and you use a radio receiver, or CD player, or similar to provide
ambient background sound, you would connect it to DEVIS LINE IN plug.
For testing and troubleshooting purposes, the user has direct control over each source’s volume,
to maximize or minimize (FIGURE 27).
