Troubleshooting
Returning an Instrument for Service (page 82)
No operator serviceable parts are available inside the modules.
Refer servicing to qualified personnel. To prevent electrical shock
do not remove covers.
Check the Basics
Is there power at the receptacle?
Is the chassis turned on? Check to see if the green LED beside the power switch
is on. Listen for internal fan noise to determine if the chassis cooling fans are
running.
If other equipment, cables, and connectors are being used with the M8920A
Radio Test Set, make sure they are connected properly and operating correctly.
Are the cables properly connected between the M9470A and M9241A? Refer to
M8920A Instrument Connections (page 43)
Is the measurement application running? If not, there is a software launch short-
cut/icon on the Desktop.
Does the instrument application have the focus? (That is, is the blue window
banner highlighting the correct window?) If not, select on the applicable win-
dow to give it the focus.
Review the measurement procedures being performed when the problem first
appeared. Are all of the settings correct?
If the M8920A Radio Test Set solution is not functioning as expected, return it to
a known state by selecting
, Mode Preset.
Some software settings are not affected by a Preset. If you wish to
reset the N9093 Radio Test mode settings, select the

Is the measurement being performed with the results within the specifications
and capabilities of the M8920A Radio Test Set?
