Charging batteries
Risk
Danger of life or injury due to the charging of batteries!
By charging batteries there is a risk of life or injury, as well as danger for damage
to the machine or system!
Never charge a battery without first reading the user manual of the charger you
are using. In addition to the instructions of the charger manufacturer, the following
safety instructions must be observed.
•
Always wear suitable goggles and protect your face and hands in an
appropriate way.
•
Charge batteries only in well-ventilated rooms.
•
Ventilation caps tightly closed and horizontal.
•
Use the appropriate charger for each of the two voltage systems.
•
Make sure the battery disconnector is turned off and disconnected.
•
Place the charger on OFF before connecting the connecting cables to the
battery to avoid dangerous sparks.
•
Never attempt to charge an apparently damaged or frozen battery.
•
Connect the charger's connection cables to the battery. Connect the red
cable (+) to the battery's plus pole (+) and the black cable (–) to the
negative pole (–) of the battery.
•
Make sure the connecting cables are not broken, worn or loose.
•
Set the timer, turn on the charger and slowly increase the charging rate
until the desired current (A) is reached. If the battery gets hot, gasses
violently or injects electrolyte, reduce the charging rate or temporarily turn
off the charger.
•
Always set the charger to OFF before removing the connecting cables from
the battery to avoid dangerous sparks.
Two systems with different electrical voltages are used in the HyCut mower.
•
Control voltage 12 volts
•
Motor voltage
48 volts (four batteries a 12 volts connected in
series)
The following sub-chapters / illustrations show the charging processes with
chargers for 12, 24 and 48 volts.
