This engine is certified for inboard use only in jet drive and stern drive vessels. Installation of this
engine in outboard applications is a violation of the Clean Air Act.

This engine and the installed system components are designed to meet the current CARB and
EPA emissions requirements.

STORAGE OR LAY_UP

SHORT TERM

1. Check coolant protection and all fluid levels.
2. Add proper amount of marine formula Stabil fuel additive or equivalent to the fuel tank.
3. Start the engine
5. Run engine long enough to allow Stabil additive to reach cylinders.
6. Shut off ignition switch.
7. Disconnect battery
8. Leave spark plugs in holes (or seal with suitable threaded plugs).
9. Cover all openings into the engine with dust proof cap or shields.

CAUTION:

Make sure the raw water side of the heat exchanger and fuel/oil cooler are drained

when ambient temperature is or may go below 32



LONG TERM OR INDEFINITE PERIOD

1. Add proper amount of marine formula Stabil fuel additive or equivalent to the fuel tank.
2. Drain oil from crankcase, refill with recommended SAE 0W/40 Dexos 1 or full synthetic.
3. Run engine long enough to allow Stabil additive to reach cylinders.
4. Shut off ignition switch before disconnecting battery.
5. Check coolant protection and all fluid levels.
6. Disconnect and remove battery.
7. Leave spark plugs in holes (or seal with suitable threaded plugs).
8. Cover all openings into the engine with dust proof cap or shields.
