7.3 Capacity Correction Factors for Piping Length and Level Difference
Figure 2-7.1: 80 model rate of change in cooling capacity
Figure 2-7.2: 80 model rate of change in heating capacity
Figure 2-7.3: 100-120 model rate of change in cooling capacity
Figure 2-7.4: 100-120 model rate of change in heating capacity
Figure 2-7.5: 140-160 model rate of change in cooling capacity
Figure 2-7.6: 140-160 model rate of change in heating capacity
Notes:
1. The horizontal axis shows equivalent length of piping between farthest indoor unit and first outdoor branch joint; the vertical axis shows the largest level
difference between indoor unit and outdoor unit. For level differences, positive values indicate that the outdoor unit is above the indoor unit, negative
values indicate that the outdoor unit is below the indoor unit.
2. These figures illustrate the rate of change in capacity of a system with only standard indoor units at maximum load (with the thermostat set to maximum)
under standard conditions. Under partial load conditions there is only a minor deviation from the rate of change in capacity shown in these figures.
3. The capacity of the system is either the total capacity of the indoor units obtained from indoor unit capacity tables or the corrected capacity of the outdoor
units as per the calculations below, whichever is smaller.
