3. Power-On, Self-Diagnostic Test and Power-Off
3.1 Power-on and Self-Diagnostics
Turning the power on will automatically start the power-on self-diagnostics.
The following items/functions are checked during the self-diagnostics.

Memories
ROM
RAM
C-MOS RAM
•
DC power supply
•
Wavelength drive mechanism
•
Light source
•
Light source emission
•
Shutter
If an error is detected, corresponding error message will appear and the self-
diagnostics will be terminated. However, when the light source emission is
checked to be poor, the error message “EMISSION POOR” will be shown for
several seconds, then resume the diagnostics.
On completion of the self-diagnostics, the following display will appear as
shown in Figure 3.1.
