not possible to select the digit to delete:
as the wheel is
touched, the digit changes

If the field is alphabetic, it is possible to use the knob to
reach for the letter to be deleted: the deleted letter is the
one to the left with respect to the cursor. If the cursor is
completely to the left, DEL deletes the letter to the right

As explained above the arrows, when the context is numeric,
increment or decrement the value; in a selection page, they
allow to move around
