When the modem operates in the Server mode, it is accessed directly from the dispatching center. Thus, it is
not required to refer to the iRZ Collector server to receive data from external devices. However, the iRZ Collec-
tor software solution can be still used to monitor and control the modems.
When establishing GPRS connection, the modem sends a start packet to the iRZ Collector server and waits
for a response. After receiving the response the modem switches to the data transmission mode. In case of a
response error, the modem re-establishes connection.
To set up the operation of the client modem with the iRZ Collector server, use the ATM Control utility (tab
Settings

Basic ) check the box for the Integration into IRZ Collector and specify an IP address and the
server port.

4.10. Working without iRZ Collector Protocol
In the client mode ATM is able to send starting ID when connecting to the server working without iRZ Col-
lector protocol. Starting ID text is set in the modem settings via ATM Control application and can consist of
any printable and non-printable characters as well as insertions of the following info: IMEI, CSQ, SCID, oper-
ating SIM card (see "ATM Control User Guide" , section "Setting up Connection" ). Each server requiring start-
ing ID must have respective option "Add ID" enabled via ATM Control application ( Settings

Basic ).
Maximal starting ID text size that can be specified in ATM Control is 254 bytes. Also in ATM Control appli-
cation it is possible to set package text awaited frim the server by the modem. Foremost action can be speci-
fied: Receiving server message or sending of the starting ID.
4.11. Encapsulation Mode
When operating with the iRZ Collector server, the encapsulation mode is available. The encapsulation mode
enables the modem to receive control commands and response to the server inquiries without interrupting con-
nection to the server. Control over Encapsulation mode is carried out via ATM Control program.
The following inquiries can be made from the server:
CSQ signal strength;
data on detected base stations;
GSM module temperature;
GPIO pins status;
COM port pins status;
current settings reading.
ATM can process the following commands:
GPIO status change;
