not sent if connection is restored within the specified time interval set in the

4.14. Data Transmission via CSD
The ATM modem supports data transmission via CSD (over voice channel).
Calls can be authorized from any number or only from a specified group of numbers. Enabling
any phone
no.
option or specifying the group of phone no. can be done in the tab
Settings
Advanced
CSD
of the
ATM Control program.
CSD is supported both in the
Client
and the
Server
modes of the modem operation. In addition, modem
supports a separate mode for data transmission only over CSD.
At an incoming call the modem determines its type: voice call or data transmission. If it is a voice call, the
modem refers it to the offline mode. If it is determined as data transmission, the modem compares the tele-
phone number, from which the call has been received, with the phone numbers enabled in the settings. If the
number coincides with the enabled ones (or all numbers are enabled), the modem switches to the CSD mode.
In this case, transparent data communication between an external device and a connection initiator
1
is estab-
lished. Connection is supported until the initiator ends the call. The automatic exit from the CSD mode will be
initiated only when the SIM card is removed for the modem.
You can set switching to CSD mode possible either from any phone number or only from an authorized
group of phone numbers.
The CSD mode is dominant: if the call is received during data transmission over GPRS, the GPRS connec-
tion is broken and the CSD mode is set. After data transmission via CDS is complete, the modem returns to the
action performed before switching to the CSD mode. If it was connected to server, it tries to re-establish con-
nection. If it server modem was online, then the modem goes back online and awaits incoming connections. If
the modem was in GPRS mode, then it will re-establish GPRS connection, and if it was in offline mode, then it
will go back to offline mode.
The CSD mode is unavailable during the embedded software (firmware) update process and the modem set-
tings change.
