Note!
The RS232 (COM port) standard does not allow hot plugging. To prevent damage to the COM port,
wait at least 5 seconds to plug and unplug connected devices after turning off the power.
The DCD, DSR, CTS, RING pins can be set to a high or low state in the encapsulation mode (see section
“Encapsulation mode”
) or in the service mode using the ATM Control application. By default, the DCD, DSR,
CTS pins are set to a high state, RING
– to a low state.
The modem supports operation with the COM port via the Modbus protocol. There are two protocol imple-
mentations available
– Modbus RTU and Modbus ASCII.
Modbus RTU
– the packet data protocol used for communication with external devices via RS232, RS485
and RS422. When operating in the GPRS network, overload of base stations might cause data link failure. The
