SECTION 10—BASE FRAME

3G Storm Series® Wheelchairs

Part No. 1104849

Replacing Seat Support Brackets

NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 10.2.

1. Remove the seat frame. Replacing the Seat Frame on page 66.

2. Remove standard seat frame subassembly.

3. Remove seat mounting plates. Refer to Replacing Seat Mounting Plates on page 85.

NOTE: Note the position of the seat support brackets before removing to ensure proper
reinstallation.

WARNING

DO NOT adjust the position of the seat support bracket in this procedure. If an

adjustment is desired, refer to Stability and Balance on page 36.

4. Remove the two mounting screws and washers that secure the seat support bracket to

the base frame.

WARNING

When installing seat support bracket, ensure the mounting screws are threaded

into the T-Nuts located inside the channel of the base frame.

5. Secure the new seat support bracket to base frame with the existing two mounting

screws and washers. Torque to 156 in-lbs (13 ft-lbs)(17.62 Nm).

6. Reinstall seat mounting plates. Refer to Replacing Seat Mounting Plates on page 85.

7. Adjust seat mounting plates to desired angle. Refer to Seat Angle Adjustment on

page 81.

8. Reverse STEP 2.
