VT220/ANSI Terminal Emulation Programmer’s Reference Guide

If SSA is not followed by ESA on the same page, the

SSA has no effect on that page. Selected areas must

always end with ESA.

Selected areas cannot be changed by the ED, EL, or

ECH control functions.
