Asphalt hopper extensions (option)
For conventional paving, where a dump truck is pushed along by the
paver's push bar, the spray group includes an asphalt hopper extension
(see
Figure 17).
The hopper extensions maintain proper interface with asphalt trucks.
Since the center spray bar runs between the hopper and the rollers that
push the asphalt truck, the asphalt hopper extension allows for correct
depth of dumping into the paver, minimizing spillage.

Hydraulic system
The hydraulic system is pressurized by a piston pump. The pump provides
fluid power to the hydraulic motors and hydraulic cylinders. A hydraulic
reservoir supplies hydraulic fluid to the system. Valves control motor and
cylinder function.
Piston pump
The piston pump (Figure 18) is dedicated to the spray paving hydraulic
system. The pump is typically powered by an unused PTO located on the
paver engine. It is pressure compensated to 2500 psi.
