If you’ve connected the NVS-7.7 to your AV receiver with an optical or coaxial digital audio connec-
tion, to enjoy Dolby Digital and DTS, you must change the following settings for Media Center and
PowerDVD.

Notes:
• When the
Use SPDIF
option is set to On, or the Enable S/PDIF check box is selected, Dolby
Digital and DTS audio is output by the digital audio outputs, but not the analog audio outputs.
• When set to off, Dolby Digital and DTS signals are output as PCM.
• If your TV or audio system doesn’t support Dolby Digital and DTS, turn off both of these
options.
Step 13: Enable 5.1-channel Digital Audio Output

On the Media Center Start menu,
click Settings.
The settings menu appears.

Click DVD.
The DVD settings menu appears.

Click Audio.
The Audio settings menu appears.

Select the Use SPDIF option.

click DVD Audio.
PowerDVD starts.

Click Configuration.
The settings menu appears.

Click the Audio tab.
The Audio settings menu appears.

Select the Enable S/PDIF option.
Note:
When playing a DTS CD, make sure the
Enable S/PDIF
option is deselected,
otherwise noise may be produced.
