5.1.2. Ceiling Installation

The standard transducer may be installed on a ceiling alone or with the leveling plate where
leveling is required. In both cases, bolts secure the standard transducer to a ceiling.

a. Installing the Standard Transducer

The transducer may be installed on level ceilings where no leveling adjustments are required. To
mount a transducer, install a bolt into the ceiling according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Hold the transducer in the upright position and slide it over the bolt. This ensures the vertical
geophone, located inside the transducer, maintains its original axis. Point the arrow in the
direction of the event. Slide on 3/8 inch (9.5 mm) washer and a 3/8 inch (9.5 mm) lock washer
over the bolt and tighten with the retaining nut. Press the
