2.3.5 EonNAS System Initialization
WARNING
DUAL CONTROLLER REDUNDANT SYSTEMS
: You
MUST
install at least 4 hard
drives. Hard drive slots 1, 2, 3 and 4 are system dedicated drives. If removed, they
MUST
be re-inserted in the exact same slots in the enclosure!
SINGLE CONTROLLER SYSTEMS
:

install at least 2 hard drives. Hard
drive slots 1 and 2 are system dedicated drives. If removed, they
MUST

re-inserted in the exact same slots in the enclosure!
When you power on the system for the first time, you will need to initialize it using the
following procedure.
Locating Your NAS System
NOTE
You need a Windows OS computer and you
MUST
turn off the firewall!
1. Turning off Windows firewall:
To turn off the Windows firewall, please refer to the instructions below.
Windows 7/ Vista:
Click on the Start button > Control Panel > Security > Windows Firewall >
turn off Firewall.
You may be prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type
the password or provide confirmation.
Windows XP:
Click on the Start button > Control Panel > Windows Firewall > turn off

2. Approximately 5 minutes after pressing the power button (if the user is near
the system, after pressing the power button a beep will sound after 2 minutes
and two beeps will sound 3 minutes thereafter) double click on EonOne.exe
found in the “fscommand" folder on the CD. EonOne window will appear.
3. Select your language preference.
