1 Introduction
1.1
Product Overview
The NAS series server is a high-performance storage appliance for sharing files and
volumes across Ethernet network. Network Attached Storage (NAS) separates
application servers and data, and stores data on storage devices that perform
dedicated file serving tasks. It is a dedicated, high-performance system providing
files or shares for numerous clients to access. The advantages offered include:
Improved performance based upon dedicated file service processing

The ability to serve a common set of files to a heterogeneous client population

High bandwidth connectivity on selected models (iSCSI / SAS / Fibre) to RAID
SAS port for JBOD storage expansion
