Cle an and Prote c t the Motorc yc le

Fue l Stabilize r
Ad d fre sh fue l to fill the fue l tank and ad d fue l stab ilize r. Do
not ove rfill.
Rid e the motorcycle or star t and run the e ng ine for 15
minute s in a we ll ve ntilate d are a to d istr ib ute the stab ilize r
throug hout the fue l syste m.
Tire Inflation
Inflate the tire s to normal p re ssure . Se e p ag e 81.
Eng ine Prote c tion
Chang e the e ng ine oil. Se e p ag e 58.
Cooling Sys te m
Che ck the coolant leve l and maintain as re comme nd e d b y
ad d ing coolant to the re cove r y b ottle . Se e p ag e 60.
Batte ry Care
1. Re move the b atte r y. Se e p ag e 86.
2. Cle an the b atte r y te rminals first with a wire b r ush to
re move any loose d e p osits.
3. Wash the p osts and the e nd s of the b atte r y cab le s with a
solution of one p ar t b aking sod a to 16 p ar ts wate r. Rinse
with cle an wate r and wip e d r y.
4. Ap p ly a thin film of d ie le ctr ic g re ase to the p osts and
cab le conne ctors.
5. Cle an the outsid e of the b atte ry with a solution of mild
d e te rg e nt and warm wate r.
6. Store the b atte r y in a d r y are a with a te mp e rature of 32°
to 90° F (0° to 32° C).
7. While in storag e , fully charg e the b atte r y once a month.
