Note
The loopback module must only be fitted in the right hand I/O module bay (as viewed from the rear).
For U320 operation the cable to the host computer must be no longer than 3 metres and must connect
to the Channel 1 connection on the rear of the enclosure.
2.7 I/O Module Installation
2.7.1 Parts Check List
• 2 x 4 I/O module or Loopback module.
Important
Please check that you have received the correct IO Module variant. Please refer to Section
1.5.7, ”Ultra-320 SCSI I/O Module Specification”
for details.
2.7.2 Drive Address Ranges
Use the Range switch on the rear of the I/O module to change the address range of the drives on their
appropriate channel. (i.e. Left I/O: 1/1, 1/2, 2/1, 2/2 and Right I/O: 1/3, 1/4, 2/3, 2/4 when viewed from the
front)
• Set the Range switch for each channel to the range settings as shown in
Figure 2–15

The loopback module has NO range switch settings are derived from the 2 x 4 I/O module
– see
Table 2–3
in section
2.6.2
above.
