„Ignition aids“ tab
You can use an ignition aid to ensure that samp-
les are correctly and reliably ignited. The external
energy contributed by the aid must be included
when calculating the calorific value.

Select an ignition aid from the list:
Note: These predefined ignition aids cannot be
changed.
An energy value is defined for each ignition aid;
this value is included automatically in the calcu-
lation of the calorific values. If you select „user-
defined“ this energy value can also be changed at
the preparation of each individual measurement.
The default setting is „IKA ignition thread“
You can modify the list or add new ignition aids
to it.. Select an ignition aid and click on the „Edit“
button to activate the input fields for this.
You must change the name and the energy valu-
es. Click on „Load“ to modify the selected igniti-
on aid. Click on „Add“ to add a new ignition aid
to the list with the data that were input. Click on
„Cancel“ to make no changes.

decomposition: The venting of the decompo-
sition vessel after measurement is skipped in or-
der to facilitate determination of the products of
combustion.
water line: The calorimeter is operated using a
water supply; the internal temperature regulation
parameters must be adjusted accordingly.
Take over: Some parameters from the previous
measurement (Name, User, Properties, ignition
and combustion aid) can be retained when pre-
paring for a new measurement.
Restart: If a measurement is cancelled prior to
ignition, after rectifying the cause of the cancel-
lation you can restart the measurement without
having to prepare a new measurement.

: Two filling and emptying cycles are
performed before filling with oxygen, in order
that purging with oxygen will reduce the propor-
tion of nitrogen remaining in the decomposition
vessel to an insignificant residue.
