3. To save the event logs, click View
→
Event Log . When the Event Log window
opens, perform the following actions:
a.
Clear the View Only critical event box.
b. Enter 8191 in the Retrieve most recent critical events box.
c. Click Update . The window will refresh.
d.
Click
Select All
.
e. You will be prompted with a file name. Click Save As to save the events.

1. General system error. Indicates that a Fault LED somewhere on
the storage server has turned on. (Check for amber LEDs on
FRUs). Use Storage Manager Software to help diagnose the
problem.
Drive Fault Amber LED on - Drive FRU
1.
Replace the drive that failed .
Fan Fault Amber LED on - Fan FRU
1. Replace the fan that failed.
Amber LED on - RAID controller Fault LED
1. If the RAID controller Fault LED is lit, do not replace the RAID
controller until proper diagnosis made using DS4000 storage
management software. The RAID controller Fault LED is lit
because:
v The controller Battery LED is not lit, the cache battery failed to
keep its charge. Replace the battery.
v
The controller was placed offline. Use the storage management
software to bring the controller back online.
v The controller is not functional. Replace the controller.
Amber LED on - RAID controller Expansion port Bypass
LED
1.
No corrective action is needed if the system is properly
configured and there are no attached expansion units.
2. Reattach the SFPs and fibre channel cables. Replace input and
output SFPs or cables as necessary.
3. Expansion unit is not turned on or has fault.
4.
Replace RAID controller if previous steps do not resolve the
problem.
Note: There is no Expansion Port Bypass LED on the DS4300 model
6LU and 6LX.
Power Supply Fault Amber LED on and power green LED
off - Power supply FRU
1. Turn on all power supply power switches.
2. Check ac power.
Amber and green LEDs on - Power-supply FRU
1. Replace the failed power-supply FRU.
All green LEDs off - All FRUs
1. Check that all storage server power cords are plugged in and
the power switches are on.
2. Check that the main circuit breakers for the rack are turned on.

Drive Fault Amber LED flashing - Drive FRUs
1. No corrective action is needed. (Drive rebuild or identity is in
process.)
One or more green LEDs off - Power supply FRUs
1. Make sure that the power cord is plugged in and the
power-supply switches are turned on.
One or more green LEDs off - All drive FRUs
