Changing SCSI Addresses
If you need to change SCSI addresses, follow the instructions supplied with each
device.
Terminating the SCSI Devices and Adapter
Some SCSI devices have built-in terminators controlled by a DIP switch, jumper, or
push button. Other devices use terminators on the cable. Some devices require a
terminator be plugged into the device on a connector. After planning your installation,
you need to supply the correct terminator to the SCSI device at each end of the
chain. Refer to the device instructions to find out how it is terminated. If necessary,
you should purchase terminators when you buy devices and cables.
Active terminators are required for all installations for reliable SCSI operation.
The basic rules of terminating SCSI buses are:

Terminate the ends of the chain.
Ÿ
Do not terminate devices in the middle of the chain.
Attaching a Toroid Assembly
On systems that are specified to be FCC Class B compliant, attach a toroid
assembly, if provided, around each cable plugging into the external connector(s) of
the adapter. Place the toroid assembly as close to the connector(s) as possible.
The toroid assembly will clamp around the cable and the two halves will snap
together to secure it.
