Advanced Setup
You can set up some advanced hardware features in this function. If they are configured incorrectly, the system might
malfunction.
Cache Control
Determines whether the internal or external cache will be enabled or disabled. If enabled, the memory access will speed up.
ROM Shadowing
Video BIOS Shadowing
option determines whether video BIOS will be copied to RAM. However, it is optional
depending on chipset design. Video Shadow will increase the video speed.
Chipset feature
Select this line to see the chipset menu.
Power Management Setup
The Power Management Setup allows you to configure your system to most effectively save energy while operating in a
manner consistent with your own style of computer use.
APM
Select this item to set APM options. There are several items could be chosen for power saving settings. You can choose the
proper time frame of Power management, HDD Power Down and Doze Mode. Select [Yes] or [No] on PM by APM to define
whether the power management is controlled by APM.
Activity Monitor
Select this item to set up those system activities that will be monitored for automatic power management.
Automatic power on
Select this item to control Automatic power on when your system is unattended.
ACPI Suspend Type
Select this option to set mode S1 or S3 when entering StandBy.
Frequency Control
This setting allows you to change the clock rate of CPU, SDRAM, DIMM and PCI bus.
Load FDDless Defaults
For models that do not include a diskette drive, this option allows you to reload optimized settings for operating without a
diskette drive.
If you have made changes in Setup but would like to restore the default settings, follow these steps:
1.From the Configuration/Steup Utility menu, highlight the option, then press
Enter. A dialog box appears confirming if you want to Load FDDless Defaults.
2.Type Y to select Yes, then press Enter.
